 Our Manager

Eagle Building Services Inc. is managed by Mike Hughes. Mike was born in Las Animas, Colorado on May 15, 1958. He was raised in the small mountain community of Beulah, Colorado and graduated from South High School in Pueblo, Colorado. Attending the University of Colorado Mike completed a two year vocational degree course in Building Construction Trades and graduated with a 4.0 grade point average.

Mike comes from a long family line of craftsmen and has followed in the steps of his forefathers. He has skillfully worked in every area of construction and has built everything from fine heirloom furniture, custom homes, and commercial buildings, to huge bridges for the Santa Fe Railroad. He has worked in building maintenance and construction in Colorado, Alaska, Hawaii, South Dakota, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Texas. Mike holds a residential endorsement and manages Eagle Building Services Inc. with over 35 years of experience, a vast knowledge of construction, and track record of success.

While working for the Santa Fe Railroad, Mike met his wonderful wife Marlene. They were married in July of 1980. Mike and Marlene were very active in their local church and it was there that Mike realized that part of his life should be given to church ministry.

Resigning from the Santa Fe Railroad, Mike moved with his wife and two children to Dallas, Texas and there attended a private bible college. By the time his third child was born Mike had successfully completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology. He graduated in 1987 as valedictorian from the Independent Baptist College.

While continuing his vocation in the building and construction trades, Mike has successfully built and pastored churches in Oklahoma and Alaska. Since 1989 Mike has been the pastor of the Chugiak Baptist Church. Mike worked as a building maintenance and construction superintendent for Arctic Funding Inc. until 2003 when Mike and his wife Marlene bought Eagle Building Services Inc.

Mike is proud of his wife, children, and 4 grandchildren. Mike's wife Marlene is the love of his life and is his greatest encouragement. Marlene works full time for the Department of Transportation and is the president of Eagle Building Services Inc.

When he was a young boy, Mike came to Alaska for the first time and fell in love with the state. He has been in and out of Alaska many times since that summer of 1969 and is now grateful that God has allowed him to live and work in the "Great Land".
